Pillars are the top-level workspaces in Syntaxia. Each one groups the consoles a particular team works in, and each member is granted the pillars they need. The pillar you are in decides which consoles appear in the navigation and which actions are available on the pages you open. Every organization has the same five pillars. The names below are the product defaults. See Rename a pillar for how your organization can change three of them.

Switch pillars

Click the pillar name in the app header to open the switcher. The Revenue Control Tower sits above a rule, and the pillars you hold sit below it. Members who hold only one pillar see a static label instead of a menu.

Grant pillars to members

Pillars are granted per member, independently of role. New members start with the Revenue Control Tower and Operations.
  • Settings > Team lets an admin change which pillars each member holds.
  • A join code can carry a set of pillars, so everyone who joins through it starts with the same grants.
Your role (owner, admin, or member) and your pillars combine to decide what you can do. Adding a source, for example, requires the Data pillar at any role. Reprocessing a source requires the Data pillar and an admin or owner role. See Source card actions for that matrix, and Ask SyntaxIA for the settings you can change from the chat.

Rename a pillar

Data, Planning, and Operations are default names. An owner or admin who holds the Data pillar can rename them to match the vocabulary your team uses, for example “GTM” instead of “Operations”. Only the label changes. URLs, consoles, and member grants stay the same. See Rename a pillar.
The Revenue Control Tower and Finance keep their names. The rest of this documentation uses the default names throughout.
