Syntaxia processes your source data in a queue. When a source finishes a sync, or someone presses Reprocess on a source card, that work joins the queue and waits for the organization’s processing window. The schedule decides when that window opens. By default, every organization runs once a day at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (America/New_York). At that hour Syntaxia works through everything that arrived since the previous run, one source at a time, in the order the requests arrived.

Check the schedule

Anyone in the organization can ask the assistant:
  • “When does processing run?”
  • “What is the processing schedule and how much is waiting?”
  • “When is the next run?”
The answer includes the cadence as a sentence, such as “Runs every day at 9:00 PM EDT”, the next run time, how long until it, whether the organization is on the product default, and how many sources are queued and waiting. The same information is on the Processing console in the Data pillar, which leads with a live countdown to the next run. Owners and admins with the Data pillar also see a Process now button there to start the queue ahead of the window.

Change the schedule

Only owners and admins who hold the Data pillar can change the schedule. See who can do what.

From the form

1

Open the form

In the chat composer, type /schedule and press Enter. The card shows the current settings and, if the organization has never changed them, a note that it uses the product default.
2

Pick a frequency

Choose Continuous, Daily, Weekdays, or Weekly. Continuous hides the time fields because it runs work as soon as it arrives.
3

Set the time

Pick an hour, a minute, and a time zone. For Weekly, also select at least one day. The card previews the next run as you edit.
4

Save

Click Save. A receipt with the new cadence appears in the conversation, and the Processing console updates immediately.
If the organization has a custom schedule, the card also offers Reset to workspace default.

By asking

  • “Run processing at 6am on weekdays.”
  • “Process continuously.”
  • “Move the processing window to 22:30 Europe/London.”
  • “Reset the processing schedule.”
When you name an hour without a time zone, the organization keeps the zone it already had. An organization that was running continuously starts from the product default zone.

Frequencies

Hours run from 0 to 23 and minutes from 0 to 59. Time zones use IANA names, such as America/New_York or Europe/London. Daylight saving changes are handled automatically. A wall time that does not exist on a spring-forward night moves forward one hour, and a wall time that occurs twice on a fall-back night takes the first.

What a change affects

  • Work already waiting moves to the new window. Sources that are queued but have not started are re-dated onto the new schedule. The assistant tells you how many will move. Work that someone has already expedited with Process now stays where it is.
  • Nothing starts. Changing the schedule says when the queue may run. It does not begin a run. Use Process now on the Processing console to run ahead of the window.
  • Reset is not continuous. Reset drops the organization’s custom schedule and returns it to the product default, which is nightly. Continuous is its own setting that stores “never wait”.
  • Source syncs are unaffected. Connected CRMs keep syncing on their own connector schedule. The processing window only governs when Syntaxia processes what those syncs delivered.
